THE PERSON BEHIND MAC IN COLOR
Hi, I’m Mac.
I’m Macca Rose, but you can call me Mac. My dad did. Mac in Color brings together my love of styling, the people who taught me to see beauty in the details, and my choice to live with more color.
WHERE IT BEGAN
Style has always meant more to me than clothes.
My love of style began with my great-grandma Dorothy. She was chic, timeless, and unforgettable. Growing up, I looked forward to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale with my grandma Marian, my mom Julie, my sister Megan, and Auntie Mo. I loved the clothes, but I loved being there with them just as much.
I married my high school sweetheart at 21 and landed a job at Nordstrom. I thought it was a dream—until I learned I’d be working in men’s. That job taught me to measure a suit, dress someone for a big day at work, and pair colors and patterns in ways I still use when I style clothes and homes. It taught me something even more lasting: people remember how you cared for them and whether you made them feel seen.
Macca tends to confuse people.
Macaroni? No problem. Macadamia nut? Easy.
Macca? Somehow that’s the tricky one.
THE TURNING POINT
I needed color.
In 2025, my dad died suddenly from cardiac arrest. Losing him changed me. I had spent so much of my life trying to please people and letting fear make decisions for me. His death made me see how little time any of us is promised. I didn’t want to keep living that way.
Around that time, I looked at my closet and saw black, cream, gray, and tan. I felt like I couldn’t breathe in it. I needed color. As I began wearing it, I felt myself coming back to life.
Mac is what my dad called me.
In Color is how I’m choosing to live.
WHAT I MAKE NOW
Pieces that feel like you.
I’ve always loved styling a friend, my husband, my kids, or a room in our home. Creating brings me alive, and it brings me calm.
Now I make one-of-one jackets for people who want to wear something that feels entirely their own. Every piece is a chance to play, to tell a story, and maybe to wear the thing you once thought you couldn’t.
